Chapter 36: Celebrating Holidays and Events

While working at either a school or a private academy it is more than likely that as a foreigner you will be given the responsibility of planning holiday events and games. Which holidays are celebrated can vary from school to school; however, typically the most important and common celebrated holidays are: The New Year, Christmas, and Halloween. Most schools plan events around these holidays and then typically also plan events around their country’s major holidays as well. In addition to these things, some schools also like to celebrate every holiday and, in those situations, you can know that you are going to be in for a very crazy year. Some schools even like to plan weekly events for their students so it is very important that you know what your school requires of teachers for holiday and event planning. So, it is important that you know your school's general schedule based on holiday events and know what you will need to prepare for each holiday in the future. During any holiday in a school or private academy it can be the most hectic time as some schools require a lot of planning and events and it is very important to understand what is expected of you and to make the most of your time for preparing for each holiday that your school celebrates.
